All Stocked UP
/Last week I sold my first stock photo yippee! (first $2 dollars, selling my own art - OK, OK, I know, just two bucks - but it was a big deal for me! So .... promptly celebrated, as appropriate, with a thimbleful of Champers - delicious!).
This whole process of taking myself seriously, or at least making a start with that, forced me to tackle organizing the last 5 years worth of photos I'd taken of my family, general interests, and Instagram related experiments (though I'm not nearly finished with this mammoth task, a thousand down, four thousand to go!). But, as a result of trying to get organized, I now have to invest in a new set of wheels for a mini suitcase to roll my DSLR around, I can no longer leave home without it.
I'm also quickly learning the photos that sell well as "stock" are those instances of in the moment or "life" snapshots of people that seem to tell a story, much more so than the perfectly staged ones. Anyway, lots still to learn, - but what about you? Have you tried any of the photo stock sites? Which one (and why?!) do you like the most?
As a result:
earnings: +$2
spendings: -$100
Champagne -$40
New set of stylish wheels - $60
Hmmm, net negative $98. But what price adventure!
Actually, on second thoughts, please send food parcels (are you reading Mom and Dad?)!
